the connection coach

My name is Amanda, but around here, I now go by 'the Connection Coach'.

I re-birthed my brand, to follow a mission more aligned to my purpose here on earth.

Why? Let me explain…

The first personal training business I built was a beautiful brand. But it was ‘textbook’. And I don’t believe in ‘textbook’. I believe in what works. And when it comes to building a healthy relationship with yourself and your body, you can’t find that answer in a textbook. It really involves taking a whole-istic view. My mission has always been to help women build an ever-lasting healthy relationship with their body and my promise is to always stay true and deliver to that.

I walked through most of my life completely disconnected. For many reasons, I didn't trust myself, I didn't really even like myself. I was completely uncomfortable in my body, looking at it, feeling it, thinking about it. It took over my life.

(A story for another day)

It felt like I was always searching for answers. And when I couldn't find them, I responded with self sabotage - disconnecting myself even further from my body.

I sabotaged myself everywhere and with everything. Relationships with people were suffering, my relationship with food, with substances were all hurting. I lacked the motivation to get up each day. I built mindsets that were disempowering, which led to developing habits out of fear.

Until one night, I laid in my bedroom on the floor…soaked in tears and guilt. Guilt that I couldn't be enough for myself or for my children. I truly felt and believed that I wasn’t enough, providing enough, doing enough, looking good enough…. And I found myself laying there, broken… frozen and forgetting to breathe. I caught myself actually holding my breath, unconsciously. It happened a couple of times as I laid there. And that scared the sh*t of out me.

How could I be so disconnected from my body that I forgot to breathe.

And it hit me. Hard and fast.

This heavy weight lifted off of me when I started to understand that only I have ‘the answers’. I realized I was looking everywhere at everyone for answers, but the answers were within me.

I was at peace that I didn’t necessarily have the answers in that moment, because I felt confident that I will find them. And I honored that, I laid there and just focused on this situation that was so dysregulated - my breathing. A basic need I somehow forgot, because my mind was too occupied thinking about everyone else's ‘answers.’

I took a few breaths and mumbled,

"Fu*k their answers. Let's find Yours. Let's find You."

& the connection

to my body was born.

I recently rebranded my business away from traditional personal training due to the lack of sustainable results stemming from intense workouts and restrictive diets. It became evident that this approach was neither maintainable nor enjoyable in the long run.

The clients who achieved lasting results were those who prioritized rebuilding a strong connection with their bodies. Shifting towards working in harmony with their bodies rather than against them proved to be transformative.

My question for you today is this: take a moment to reflect on your fundamental needs such as nutrition, breathing, sleep, hydration, and safety. How are you currently meeting these needs?

Are you consistently prioritizing them in your daily life?
