This space was born out of my journey, a journey that taught me the power of reclaiming moments for myself, even in the midst of a busy life. I can’t wait to share some of the moves I made to grow and expand not only as a single mom, but as my own woman!

HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR SANITY AMIDST THE CHAOS

PART 1

All you need is a couple of minutes…

→ MINDFUL BREATHING

  • Let’s talk about something we all do without even thinking — breathing.

    But what if I told you that with just a few intentional breaths, you could change everything? Picture this, calming your nervous system, melting away stress in an instant, and gaining crystal-clear mental focus — all with the power of your breath.

    As single mothers, we are always on the move, but do we ever really stop to take a deep breath? Like when was the last time you filled your lungs with air, really taking it all in and letting it all out? And let’s be real, the quick half ass breaths added to constantly running on empty — it’s no wonder we feel drained, tense, overwhelmed, burnt out… So let’s flip the script.

    This is your first step toward reclaiming your peace, your power, and your sanity. Here are some techniques to try this week!


→ MEDITATION

Meditation isn't about escaping your reality or adding another task to your to-do list. It's a simple, yet powerful practice of finding a few quiet moments to turn inward, to breathe, and to be present with yourself. It's a sanctuary where you can pause, even for just a few minutes, amidst the noise & demands of life.

  • STRESS RELIEF: Meditation activates the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to a decrease in cortisol levels and reduced stress responses

  • IMPROVED CONCENTRATION: Regular meditation has been linked to increased grey matter density in the brain regions associated with attention and sensory processing.

  • ALLEVIATE ANXIETY: Studies suggest that mindfulness meditation can contribute to reductions in symptoms of anxiety and depression by fostering a non-judgmental awareness of present-moment experiences.

Now, let's dive into mini-meditation.

Find a comfortable spot, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Allow any stress to melt away as you spend a brief minute in mindful reflection.

Begin by finding a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Sit or lie down in a relaxed position. Close your eyes and take a moment to settle into the present moment.

Start at the crown of your head and work your way down your body.

Feeling for any tension as you inhale in through your nose and out through your mouth. Down the neck, spine, arms, belly, legs, feet. UNCLENCH.

As you conclude your meditation, gently bring your awareness back to the present moment. Slowly open your eyes, maintaining a sense of calm and mindfulness.

Take a few moments to transition back into your day. Carry the serenity and clarity you cultivated in your meditation into the rest of your activities.

HOT TIP - if this is new for you, start slow and low - try 1 minute first, get comfy with it and then start expanding (variations and time) be kind to yourself, this takes practice & patience, but you can do this !!!
